Following in the footsteps of black history icon Madam CJ Walker, Atlanta entrepreneur DeShawn Bullard continues to broaden the distribution of NouriTress Perfect Hair Products. Her latest move is to team with Grammy Award winning songstress Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins who has become the new NouriTress Perfect Hair Products national spokesperson.
"I wasn't looking to endorse a product. I just wanted to be healthy, feel good and have beautiful hair again," said T-Boz, the former lead singer of the best selling female group of all time, TLC. "When you have a chronic illness like Sickle Cell, the toll on your body can really show up especially in your hair. Then DeShawn introduced me to NouriTress. It made my hair strong and healthy again. So I believe in it. Call it an endorsement if you want. It's just the truth," T-Boz concluded.
Based in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA, NouriTress CEO and Hair Coach DeShawn Bullard is "stylist to the stars" including T-Boz, Lynn Whitefield, Ann Nesby, Tramaine Hawkins, Betty Wright and Dottie Peoples. But these days she provides this service only to a select few. Today she spends most of her time at the NouriTress Perfect Hair Products warehouse in Fayetteville overseeing the distribution of the hair system she developed for the countless women whose hair is thinning and falling out from years of abuse.
"When I was behind the chair everyday, there wasn't a week that went by that I didn't see a new client with breakage or bald spots. It's not only the years of chemicals, coloring, weaves and glue that affects hair growth; it's bad eating habits, fast food, poor circulation and many times, like with T-Boz, it's illness," said Bullard. "NouriTress addresses both the internal and the external issues. It's the holistic approach to healthy hair. We're thrilled that T-Boz is sharing the success she's had since using NouriTress!" Bullard concluded.
NouriTress Perfect Hair Vitamins are packed with minerals, amino acids and essential nutrients that promote and accelerate hair growth from the inside. Providing a vital complement to external hair care, NouriTress is different from other hair vitamins because of its specially formulated salon prescription that feeds the hair follicles and gives each client luxurious, healthier hair.
After stellar results with the 1998 introduction of the NouriTress Perfect Hair Vitamin pack, brand driven consumers began to ask for other NouriTress products. Today, NouriTress has a complete hair system available to the public. The most popular items include the Stop Shedding Protein Conditioner®, the Leave In Botanical Reconstructor®, and the Follicle Therapy®. Professional stylists will have the NouriTress no lye vitamin crème relaxer Hair Rehab System®. All of the products, including the new men's line, can be reviewed at www.nouritress.com
Originally from Chicago, IL, NouriTress CEO DeShawn Bullard has meshed her passion for hair, technology and entrepreneurship to carve out a successful business niche in the cosmetology field. While earning a bachelor's degree in computer science from Tuskegee University, styling hair was a convenient way to make extra money. After graduation, Bullard landed successfully in corporate America as a computer programmer, where she worked for seven years. However, her true passion for hair kept calling, and she chose to follow her dream. While working as a computer programmer by day, she studied cosmetology by night and received her license from Atlanta Area Technical School. Her goal was not only to be the best stylist, but to run the most professional business in the cosmetology field.
Today the award-winning stylist-turned entrepreneur seamlessly operates four business entities. Along with her NouriTress CEO responsibilities, she is the president of Another Look Personal Hair Care Studio in Atlanta, GA; co-founder of Salon Industry Solutions, Inc., a company dedicated to educating and empowering professionals in the beauty and wellness industry; and co-owner of Salon Industry Suites, a salon suites complex concept. Her most important job is wife and mother of six year-old twins.
