New Study Suggest that Black Women May Not Be Worth Shit

"If wealth was based on hard work, African-Americans would be the wealthiest people in our nation," but what society goes by for just about everything, are statistics.

It doesn't matter if we as black women become educated, because according to statistics, we'll never marry and have a happy family.

It doesn't matter if we live healthy lives, because according to statistics, we have the highest rate of contracting just about every disease you can think of.

It doesn't matter if we have self-confidence, because racism still exists and according to statistics, we're all stressed out and obese because of it.

According to statistics, black women spend the most money on beauty, but it doesn't matter, because according to statistics, black beauty doesn't sell well.

It doesn't matter if we love our kids, because according to statistics, we have the highest abortion rate, and according to statistics, the majority of our babies are born premature.

It doesn't matter if we pay our rent, because according to statistics, we still have the highest eviction rate.

It doesn't matter how much we try to get ahead, or how talented we are, because according to statistics, we are being held behind by discrimination.

A new study from the Center for Community Economic Development indicates that single black women, even in their peak earning years, have a median net worth of only $5, and this was BEFORE the recession.

If we as black women left it up to statistics to determine our worth and well-being, the answer would be that we just may not be worth shit.
