When I first started this site, I blogged about my desire to get my hands on the French makeup brand called “Black|Up” (Makeup for Women of Color), but because they had disappeared from New York makeup counters and was based in Paris, France, it just wasn’t gonna happen. Now, three years later, Blackup Cosmetics has finally made their debut in the U.S. via blackupcosmetics.com, and like a kid in the candy store, it’s pretty exciting.

The revamped collection is said to include 13 shades of foundation, 36 eye shadow colors and 26 shades of lipstick and glosses, all made for us by us with love.

Popular beauty and fashion site, Stylist, had the opportunity to attend a breakfast at New York’s Sofitel, where the company introduced the brand to U.S. editors. While there they were able to get an exclusive interview with celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales, who works with Rihanna, Estelle, Leona Lewis and Jordin Sparks. She demonstrated and shared some of her Black|Up favorites (read about it here).
