Beauty Secrets: Laila Ali Professional Hair and Skin Care

October 5, 2015

Laila Ali holds many titles: (former boxer, newly married, busy mom, recording artist) and she continues to explore new opportunities, making her a jack of all trades.

In 1999, Ali followed in her father’s footsteps when she stepped into the boxing ring where she reigned supreme until her last fight in 2007. Since stepping out of the ring and becoming a married mommie, Ali stepped into the studio to try her hand at singing (take a listen to “Mr. Goodman” off her upcoming album <a href=””>HERE).

Without limiting herself, Ali’s latest venture: a beauty and personal skin care line takes her back to what she says has been an inspiration to her for quite some time.

“I’ve always been into hair, skin and make-up. So much so, that I actually went to cosmetology school when I was 16 years old. It was a great experience. It allowed me to not only learn about different products and their ingredients, but also test and use products so I could get a sense for myself of what I liked and didn’t like, and what worked well or not so well for me. That inspired me to want to create a high quality line of products that would help women achieve healthy, beautiful hair and skin, while being non-toxic and earth friendly,’ she tells Teen Vogue.

When asked what beauty meant to her, she responded: “Beauty can be so many different things, and each person should create their own definition. I personally feel that being beautiful is a mix of the glow from within, which comes from great health and a positive attitude. The internal beauty and this self confidence in turn makes you look and feel good on the exterior.” ***GOOD ANSWER

On taking care of her skin: “I keep my skin clean, hydrated, and mosturized. I keep it simple but I am very consistent with my skin care. Every evening before bed I make sure to wash my face. I wash it again in the morning and use my moisturizer,” she said.

The Laila Ali “eco-friendly beauty and skin care collection will include “A variety of shampoos and conditioners, skin care products, from body lotion to skin toner to eye gel, as well as a fragrance.”
