R&B singer Mary J. Blige attended the 138th Annual Kentucky Derby on Saturday May 5, 2012. For her appearance, she ran with the event’s popular rose theme, wearing a red, one shoulder Catherine Malandrino stretch silk chiffon dress and matching straw woven fedora with rose pedal details.
Appearing on the red carpet with her sister, who wore blue, Mary says she had no idea Kentucky was currently in a rival between the two colors. “I don’t even know what’s going on. I just wore a red dress because I thought it would be bright and passionate.”
