Church Leaders Offer Prayers and A Possible Plan for Bishop Eddie Long

October 5, 2015

The internet has been running rampant the past few days from allegations that an anti-gay Georgia pastor, Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church allegedly coerced young men into having sexual relations.

What started out with two accusers making such claims, quickly led to a third claim, and has now climbed to four who say they have proof (including photos and videos) that Long offered them material goods in exchange for a cult-like sexual commitment.

The bishop has since spoken out on the charges and is prepared to address the issue this Sunday, before his New Birth congregation. Rumors are circulating that Long will step down from his position, and it's not clear whether this Sunday's service will be telegraphed live, but in the meantime leaders of the church have met to discuss the allegations being made and are requesting that pastors nationwide come together and pray for the situation.
