Cookie Johnson, wife of Laker legend Magic Johnson, is on a heavy promo trail for her new premium jean collection, “CJ by Cookie Johnson.”
She appeared on Good Day LA on May 7, and BET's My Black Is Beautiful on May 16, 2010 to discuss her line that she says was made with curvy women in mind.
During each appearance Cookie put on a full fashion show showcasing her collection, and went into detail about how the jeans are made, as well as what makes them pop.
She also explained her reasoning for starting the collection.
“I started this line because I couldn't find a pair of jeans to fit me… premium denim… I couldn't find a pair of premium denim to fit me. I have thighs. I have a butt, because I work out, and the jeans would stop at my knees,” said Cookie.
The jeans come in sizes 2-18, range in price from $141 to $198, and can be found at most major retail outlets.
On a previous episode of Oprah, Cookie shared three questions women should ask themselves when shopping for jeans:
Are they comfortable to walk in? Are they too tight in the thighs? Do they come up high enough in the back to cover your goods? “If you can sit down and nothing comes out, that's the pair of jeans for you,” she said.
