If you haven't heard by now, celebrities sitting in the front row at fashion shows are paid a hefty amount of money, and some designers are bored with the trend already. Designer Marc Jacobs says celebs are so last season.
“I'm not into the celebrity thing . . . like we used to,” he tells Style.com. “That's boring . . . We're not going to have celebrities.
“I think that at that moment in time, that's what people loved. It generated so much press [but] at a certain point it was like, 'Did anybody actually watch the show?'” Jacobs explained.
He said that last season only two celebs attended his show: Lady Gaga, who didn't make it to her seat because she was late, and Madonna, who “just called and said she was coming, and we weren't holding the show for her…there are certain things I can't control.”
I believe Marc Jacobs pretty much said out loud what many real fashion lovers have been thinking for quite some time.
