Unconfirmed reports are being circulated that the leather armour sleeve Willow Smith wore to the 2010 American Music Awards on Nov. 21 was designed by her stylist, Mariel Haenn, without the consent of the original designer, Mother Of London. The design is a near exact copy of Mother of London’s design, created in 2006.
According to stylenoir.co.uk, Mother of London was contacted about her original piece possibly being ripped-off and she allegedly released the following statement: “This has been very disappointing and a massive blow for my company.”
Loyal fans of Mother of London designs, along with the folks over at stylenoir.co.uk are quite upset about the alleged rip-off and are not only expecting, but demanding an apology from Mariel Haenn on Mother of London’s behalf, and feel compensation is in order.
