If people are working eight hours a day, forty hours a week, with some even holding down not only a second but a third job, and still can't afford to pay rent AND put a decent amount of food on the table, wouldn't you agree that the rent (for one) is too damn high?
Jimmy McMillan of the “Rent Is Too Damn High” party seems to think so. And as he runs for the next governor of New York, he brought all his concerns for rent being too damn high to light during the NY Governors Debate held on Oct. 18.
While many people found it hard to take him seriously because of the humorous delivery of the message he was trying to bring, he made several valid points. And while quite a few think it's unlikely that McMillan will become the next NY governor, I would totally vote for him just on the strength I agree, the rent is TOO DAMN HIGH.
