The President and First Lady attended the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards dinner in Washington, D.C. on Sept 25, 2011. Mrs. O looked stunning in a floor-length sequin skirt by Michael Kors, from the designers Fall 2010 collection. She paired it up with a black top and Peter Soronen corset belt. A stack of bracelets and jeweled necklace completed the look.
While addressing the CBC, President Barack Obama had this to say:
Dr. King once said: “Before we reach the majestic shores of the Promised Land, there is a frustrating and bewildering wilderness ahead. We must still face prodigious hilltops of opposition and gigantic mountains of resistance. But with patient and firm determination we will press on.
“I expect all of you to march with me and press on. Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We’ve got work to do, CBC.” (read more)
