GWR Holder Asha Mandela Gets Her Locks Styled for The First Time

Asha Mandela, the current record holder of the world's longest locs on a female received royalty salon treatment for the first time ever since going dread over twenty one years ago.

After much speculation on the authenticity of Mandela's locs from various loc stylists, Maria Thomas, owner of Twist and Curves had the opportunity to get her hands in Mandela's hair and confirmed that all 19 feet, 6 1/2 inches are indeed the real thing.

In an interview for Revenge magazine, Mandela sits with Thomas and answers more of the many questions people want to know about the history and the maintenance of her long locs. Mandela also says she's been able to come to terms with all the negative criticism she's received and now just lets it work for her instead of against her.
