Halle Berry is collaborating with fashion designer Michael Kors to raise money for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) – which provides aid to people unable to feed their families. The two have created two special watches as part of the organization’s Watch Hunger Stop campaign.
”She (Halle) brings talent, energy, generosity, and of course star power to a cause that is extremely important to me,” Michael tells WWD. The accessories go on sale in May and with every watch sold, 100 meals will provided thanks to WTP.
Halle, who is expecting her first child with her fiancé Olivier Martinez, believes it’s important to stand up for world hunger as a woman in order to have a real impact on the way families live.
”Statistics show that women play a crucial role in defeating hunger,” said Berry. “WFP is especially focused on providing assistance to women because, as mothers, teachers, and entrepreneurs, they will improve the future for their families and communities.
”It’s an effort I’m eager to be a part of because I’m certain we can make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people in need.”
