The Mid-Summer 2010 Bronner Brothers International Hair and Beauty Show was held this past weekend in Atlanta, GA and as usual top stylists and barbers showcasing creative black hairstyles were in the building.

Taking place twice a year in February and August, the Bronner Brothers show is one of the hottest tickets in town. And for those of us who couldn’t make it this round, the folks over at bvhairtalk.com was there to make sure we stay current. They caught up with celebrity stylist Derek J who doesn’t miss a season, for a little insight of what we can expect to see in upcoming hair trends.

“A lot of women are cutting their hair off… a lot of women are going shorter now which I’m really excited about, because long hair gets kinda boring, and then black women are really starting to play with color now which I’m very excited about. So, hair cuts and color is what we’re really going to be seeing big this season,” said Derek.

Asha Mandela was also in attendance along with her 19 ft. 6 1/2 inches of dread locks representing big for the people with natural hairstyles and black women with long hair in general.

Of course it wouldn’t be a show without the makeup artists. BV caught up with a few extreme creatives to find out just how important makeup is to the whole hair show experience.

Lastly, thirstyroots.com did an excellent job taking a ton of photos of many of the hairstyles that stood out at this mid-summer event to make us feel like we were actually there. Enjoy…
