Films portraying South Africa and the people in it have consistently been a big issue, because of the way South Africa is always being shown in a negative light. This makes it extremely hard for U.S. film directors to get movies about South Africa approved of.
The official announcement was made over the weekend that Jennifer Hudson along with Terrance Howard will be starring in the film “Winnie,” a new biopic about the life of Winnie Mandela, the ex-wife of Nelson Mandela.
It was only a matter of time before the heat hit the fan for Jennifer Hudson, a non-African actress, who is playing the role as “Winnie.”
According to CNN, Winnie Mandela herself, sent letters to producers of the film “Winnie” threatening to enforce legal action if she's not allowed to view the script. However, producers say… That's Not Gonna Happen.”
