I love this relaxer and my hair is 4a/b. It doesn't make my hair dry, in fact it make my hair really straight with a lot of body.

I've used this and it was fabulous! There are only a scant few relaxers that I can use on my hair and this is one of them. It didn't dry my hair out at all and it didn't burn me.

After reading reviews on this product I decided it was right for my daughters hair. She is bi-racial and has soft curly hair. She likes to straighten it with a chi iron, but that takes so much time, I wanted to try something more permanent. This product was good, but it didn't work as I expected. Mostly because she has long shoulder length hair and it is very thick, so it took 20 minutes just to get it on her hair, the instructions said not to leave it on any longer than 20 minutes, so what do I do? I left it on for about 10 more minutes, then rinsed because I was afraid to leave it on any longer. It did not get straight, it loosened the curl, but is definitely still curly. Next time I plan to use the stronger formula and leave it on longer, it did not damage her hair and did leave it feeling strong and soft. I will also get someone to help me and we will both apply on each side of her head, to get it on faster. I think we will get a better result doing it like that. So my advise to anyone who has very thick or long hair, get two people to apply and make sure and leave it on as long as it is safe for maximum results.

I was a little leary about using this relaxer because my hair is only slightly wavy and a little dry. I can get my hair smooth and straight with a blow dryer and straightening iron but humidity ruins all my hard work. Any moisture in the air tends to make my hair pouffy-- which I dislike. Phytorelaxer really did exactly what I hoped it would. My hair was perfectly straight and smooth after a quick blow dry with a paddle brush. I didn't even think about using my sraightening iron. It doesn't puff up and get wavy in the moist night air anymore either. My hair did feel a little dry on the ends for the first few days-- but nothing that a good moisture treatment won't fix.

I have been getting my hair relaxed since I was 12 years old. Every relaxer I have tried before Phyto has caused extreme damage to my hair and scalp with out many results in relaxing my extremely thick and kinky hair. The first time I tried the Phyto relaxer I had immediate results. My hair was no longer frizzy, kinky, or unmanagable. My hair feels soft and healthy and the breakage has stopped as well. I am able to wear my hair natural without putting a ton of product in it before hand and it looks great! The only downside I've seen to this product is that it begins to wear off after a month or two. The frizz and kinkiness begins to come back slowly, but by the time it becomes unmanagable again, it's usually time for a touch-up anyways. I recommend this product to anyone who has extremely kinky, frizzy or unruly hair. This product will work for you!

Thank God NO MORE RUSK! Not that I'm bashing that product but it was not the best for my hair; however, this one is. It took alot to get me to try this product because I had such a hard time trusting what the product were suppose to do (not to mention hair dressers who don't know what to do themselves). This product is great. I have great body with my natural hair. It's naturally spiral curls which everyone loved when they saw it short, however, I live in Florida which is the similie to the word humidity which equates to frizziness, so I needed something. After doing my reasearch, I tried the product. The body my hair normally has naturally, is STILL THERE. NONE of it is gone. Even after 5 days in this humidity. The only problem I had with this product it that it took forever to wash out my hair. Even when I had some that went over the previously relaxed section, it did not damage it at all (Don't try this with your hair, this was an accident that I ended up on the lucky end of the stick). I do chemistry in school so I can tell you to follow all the instructions to the letter. They very detailed and precise. My hair was so beautiful after I finished with it that even my grandmother said my hair looked so beautiful. It has a shine, bounce and softnest about it that no hair dresser (except 1) have been able to get from my hair in the last 6 years. Worth the price? YES it is. I only used 1/2 of the box and I can now say that I will only go to a hair dresser to get my ends clipped. God has heard and answered my prayers. Thanks to everyone who gave a review of this product so I could make one of the best hair decisions I've made in last few years.

I have read all the Phyto Index 1 reviews to date...most negative ones sounded as if they either chose the wrong Index or needed a hair professional to apply the product properly (one must be highly skilled to apply this professional product by one's self and work quickly in application) and be able to judge how to gauge the proper relaxing time...as a trained cosmetologist, esthetician and registered nurse I have used both Index 1 and 2 on friends and relatives with great satisfaction...as a woman of Native-American and Afro-American heritage who has thyroid dysfunction (which can negatively effect the quality of one's hair and scalp) I have used the Index 2 with tremendous satisfaction.

I have used at-home relaxers for several years now with average results until I decided to use Phytospecific (Index 1). I purchased the product after seeing a Beauty review that gave it high marks. I also liked that the ingredients were plant-based. Upon CAREFULLY reading the instructions and meticulously following each step and timing recommendation, my results were impressive! After blowing drying and curling, my hair had a luster that I've never achieved with standard over the counter brands. It's soft, full of shine and manageable--which is huge since my hair tends to be unruly. I also noticed that there wasn't the usual harsh chemical smell when using Phytospecific. This product really delivers and I'll definitely continue using it.
