A federal crackdown on copyright infringement and piracy hit full force last week, shutting down and seizing more than 70 websites which primarily offered counterfeit designer goods and downloadable rap music.
The raids were conducted without warning by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, part of the Department of Homeland Security, under court-approved warrants, and domains hit by the raid were left with the following notice on entry to their website's homepage:
