Pantene has recently come out with a new line of products for women of color. The new line Pantene Pro V truly Relaxed hair, is a line that helps support healthy hair growth for chemically treated hair by adding the moisture it needs to grow.
When hair has been chemically relaxed, it tends to strip the hair from its natural oils. Pantene Pro V truly Relaxed hair products are aimed at adding moisture to the hair once it has be chemically treated. The line consists of a Lightweight Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner, and Oil Creme Moisturizer. Each product contains coconut and jojoba oil, which help to stimulate hair growth.
After trying the new line of Pantene Pro V truly Relaxed hair, I found it to be quite similar to the pre-existing Pantene Pro V Relaxed and Natural product line. The difference between the products are one is aimed at adding protection against damage from chemicals, and the other is aimed at simply providing moisture after chemicals have been added, of course with the addition of the natural oils. Pantene truly Relaxed hair was also made to be lightweight to keep the hair from weighing down with unnecessary product.
Aside from the above differences, my experience using both products were pretty much the same. The refreshing smell with both lines are similar. The shampoo works well for cleaning the hair and leaving it squeaky clean with just one wash. The conditioner is not bad, but its not the best for detangling the hair. So, if you are anything like me and prefer the hair to be tangle-free before leaving the shampoo bowl, a detangling shampoo is suggested.
Probably the most important step in the Pantene Pro V truly Relaxed hair care line is the Oil Creme Moisturizer. This product is used as a leave-in type of conditioner for the hair, and it adds a pretty nice shine once the hair has been completely dried and styled.
Overall, just like other Pantene Pro V lines for women of color, I am pleased with the new truly Relaxed hair care line. The products seem to live up to its claims by providing moisture and shine, while leaving the hair feeling light and looking healthy. I would definitely recommend the line for anyone looking to rid themselves of dry hair. I will also be adding the line to my list of quality, affordable products.
