You may wonder why use a night cream? The best answer to that question is, during the night your skin gets a break from UV rays and is able to concentrate on rebuilding and regenerating. Night creams contain ingredients that are useful in the regenerating process.
The main difference between a day cream (moisturizer) and a night cream is the ingredients these creams contain. Day creams are lighter in texture and contain ingredients that moisturize and protect the skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays (with SPF 15 or higher). Night creams contain more nourishing, anti-aging active ingredients that stimulate cell renewal, restore skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Night creams are thicker in texture and usually don’t offer sun protection.
It is said that the skin does most of its hard regenerating work between the hours of 10pm and 2am, so even if you don’t go to bed until after 12, you should try and get your night cream on early in order to reap see the benefits.

What are some good night creams to use?
Just like any other skin care products, it is crucial to choose a night cream that suits your skin type and condition.
In a recent interview with blackvoices.com, actress Tasha Smith shared some of her beauty favorites. When asked what her daily skin regimen was, she stated:
“Olay Henderson face wash and there’s this cream that I’ve found that is incredible, it’s like magic. It’s a little on the pricey side but it’s the best stuff I’ve ever used. It’s called Diamond Cream by Natura Bissa, it’s a line out of Spain. You can only get it at Nieman’s and it’s amazing. They have a great face wash as well and sometimes I go back and forth between Olay Henderson’s face wash and Natura Bissa’s face wash as well as their cream. At night time, I wash my face with either Natura Bisse or Olay Henderson but the trick for night time is Carol’s Daughter face butter. It’s truly butter for the face! It keeps the skin so vibrant in the morning. People are always saying “Oh my God your skin is just glowing!” It’s very thick but it conditions the face and it’s the best.”
To add to Tasha’s list of favorites, one of my own personal favorites is Darphin Arovita C Cream. This cream is also a little pricey and can only be purchased from Nieman’s. It’s enriched with lots of nourishing ingredients including Retinol which is not recommended for daytime use, so of course I only use it at night. It contains Vitamins C and E which when used together are very effective in regenerating the skin.
Darphin Arovita C leaves my skin looking so rejuvenated in the morning and feeling absolutely butter soft. It also reduces the size of pores leaving a smooth and even appearance.
