Original Founder of BET Networks Expresses Her Dissappointment

October 5, 2015

Sheila Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), says she's ashamed of what the network has become over the years since being bought out by Viacom in 2000.

“Don’t even get me started,” she says. “I don’t watch it. I suggest to my kids (a twenty-something daughter and a college-age son) that they don’t watch it… I’m ashamed of it, if you want to know the truth.”
