My Style: The Cultural Chic In Me

Every now and then I get in the mood to desktop window shop and put an outfit together. It’s only at that time that I realize it’s not easy to do. You should try it sometimes. Even though it’s not easy, it is a lot of fun once you’ve completed the look.

This particular ensemble was inspired by Naomi Campbell’s recent appearance on the runway during Lakme India Fashion Week. I enjoy some of the different cultural looks, Indian being one of them.

I couldn’t find it in me to go “all India” with the look, so I opted to bring the look a little more closer to home and tone it down just a notch.

The kimono dress by Marciano. The shoes by Derek Lam. The bag is a vintage 1970’s inspired classic, composed of tortoise shell colored circles of Lucite and oval brass links that match my the heels of my shoes, and just large enough for a cell phone, lipstick, id and a couple dollars.

Definitely a look I would wear on a night out on the town, or maybe even to a day party.
