A cool, calm and collective Omar Thornton, 34 sat through a disciplinary hearing at his job on Tuesday and agreed to everything. Thornton had been caught on video stealing beer from the company and as a result he peacefully resigned in lieu of being fired. But surprisingly to the boss man, before Thornton left the room he pulled out his gun and went on a rampage blasting at everyone.
Relatives gave reason that Thornton had finally cracked after suffering racial harassment in a company where he said he was singled out for being black in a predominantly white work force.
“He said the company was prejudiced and they pushed him,” said Annette Levine, a cousin of Thornton’s mother. “Those were the last words he told his mom: He loved her and they pushed him over the edge.”
In the end, Thornton killed eight or nine people, injured two, then turned the gun on himself. His long time girlfriend and her mother are shocked. (see video)
