Sneaker Pumps: The Trend That Will Never Die

When Will It Ever End?

Back in 2003 when Manolo Blahnik turned Timberland into a 4″ stiletto, it was all the rage. It brought together a new trend in shoes, as well as many new online fashionista’s that soon became really good friends in the world of fashion.

The trend grew so largely that fashionista’s quickly hoped the trend would die, however, since that time, every shoe designer I can possibly think of has tried to keep the trend alive with various styles of sneaker pumps. Some ok, and some just plain hideous!

Brace yourself ladies, because today we have yet another top designer, Sergio Rossi to team up with Puma for “The Mary Jane Sneaker Pump”.

Puma’s iconic Clyde sneaker, which was first launched in 1973, has been given a luxury make-over by the Italian brand, and the results are decidedly high fashion – literally. The combination of Puma’s street wear aesthetic and Sergio Rossi’s heritage of elegance and style has spawned the Chic-Sneak, a trainer with a twist, sporting as it does a high-heel.

The shoes will be hitting Sergio Rossi and Puma stores in March of 2009, but if you can’t wait until then book yourself a trip to Paris in January when the range will be exclusively stocked in Colette.
