Steve Madden and Betsey Johnson celebrated Betsey’s Fall 2011 runway show on Feb. 14 during MBFW New York, with the launch of a multi-platform online, mobile and social media campaign entitled “Catwalk to Concrete.” The design philosophy, developed by Madden and Johnson, makes fashion accessible and attainable for the masses, not just those sitting in the front row.

The show, which had a full house, started out with models strutting in dark colored, gothic style pieces, filled with lots of animal prints and sheer floral designs. Bob style haircuts with front bangs, and two-tone hair color, was also a big part of the theme.

Halfway through the show, Betsey Johnson took over the runway to brighten things up a bit. The show’s theme went from dark colors, and turned to bright colors, flirty designs, and solid color blond wigs of the same bob style.

Throughout the event, the collaboration between Madden and Johnson kicked in with the main focus on shoes that came in a variety of crayon colors and lace heel trimmings.

Models were seen wearing the one-of-a-kind, limited edition Lizzy-L bootie, that customers, fans and fashionistas alike are now able to purchase at stevemadden.com, the new Steve Madden mobile site, and betseyjohnson.com.
