In honor of the eclectic talents behind the scenes of the entertainment industry (fashion stylists, hair stylists, make-up artists, and photographers), the 2nd Annual Blackout Awards returned for its second year.

The event, proudly sponsored by the COVERGIRL Queen Collection, was held at the Hilton Newark Gateway Hotel in NJ on June 12, 2011.

“We are so excited to be celebrating our second year of amazing artists with a widely recognizable beauty brand, COVERGIRL Queen Collection, which was inspired by Queen Latifah to celebrate the beauty of women of color,” said Yancey Edwards, Founder of The Blackout Awards and hairstylist extraordinaire. “Each year we set the bar higher because this awards ceremony is about giving back through philanthropy and appreciating the artists who work so diligently.”

Celebrity stylist Misa Hylton (shown above) was once again honored and in attendance. Misa has styled a number of artists, including Jodeci, and as the mother of P. Diddy’s oldest child, she also had the privilege to style most of the early Bad Boy artists, including Notorious BIG, Mary J. Blige, and Lil Kim, among so many others.

Others in attendance were fashion designers Coco and Breezy (shown left), who are known for their space age sunglasses collection seen worn by a fist-full of celebrities, and BET News host April Woodard (shown right).

Tahiry and celebrity publicist Lexi Chow apparently loved this form fitting, white gown embedded with gold studs so much, they came dressed like twins. Nice choice!
