Mark Clements was 16 years old when he was tortured by officers under the command of Chicago police chief, John Burge. He was present at Burge’s trial and gave his reaction to the media after Burge was found guilty for lying about police torture.

“Today is a victory for every poor person,” said Clements. Words that a lot of people who can't afford proper legal representation can relate to.

In case you haven't been following, on Monday, police lieutenant John Burge was convicted on federal charges of lying about abusing suspects. Over decades, dozens of men claimed that John Burge, and police officers who reported to him, routinely beat and tortured suspects to pry out confessions. Continue for more on this story…
