Thierry Mugler's creative director Nicola Formichetti got real futuristic for the brand's Spring 2012 show presentation, held during Paris Fashion Week.

The light, giving the impression of a smoke-filled runway, featured Lady Gaga in video on the big screen, and models working a line, reminiscent of scenes in a Star Trek movie.

In hues of nude, ivory and metallic, the man eating Mugler woman, donned unconventional silhouettes with cut-outs and asymmetrical hemlines, paired with lightweight outerwear. Beauty for the show included neon lips, slicked back hair, and gold covered eyebrows.

From The Press: “The collection is about emotion and memory and something forming and abstract rather than complete…We concentrated on the idea of the silhouettes.” said Formichetti of the pieces. Seen in the garments were classic tailoring techniques spliced together or cut-away giving the garments a more abstract quality. The pieces looked like “second skin” some pieces were accented by Swarovski crystals.
