Try Garlic for Good Health and Hair Loss Treatments

Many people don’t know garlic is a naturally powerful antibiotic. For centuries, it has been considered a “cure-all” — able to treat just about every ailment from the cold to the plague! The health benefits of garlic are endless. Available in pills, capsules, liquid and actual raw cloves, garlic has proven to be very effective against hair loss, toxic bacteria, and many viruses. For this reason, it is known to be one of the most popular healthy herbs around today.

Garlic belongs to the Allium family of vegetables which also includes onions, chives, shallots and leeks. According to research, the antioxidant properties of garlic help scavenge harmful free radicals, which can damage LDL (bad) cholesterol in the blood stream. It also promotes increased bile production to help reduce levels of fat in the liver, as well as ward off coughs and colds.

NOTE: To get the best health benefits from garlic, crush it and let it stand for 10 minutes, then eat it raw or cook it for less than 6 minutes. The crushing breaks open cell membranes to release alliinase, an enzyme vital for creating anti-clotting compounds, the most active being allicin and thiosulphinate. In uncrushed garlic the alliinase remains locked away.

GARLIC AS A HAIR LOSS REMEDY

In addition to being good for the body, garlic is also good for the scalp and hair. It stimulates the flow of blood to the scalp and removes harmful toxins that stunt hair growth. By adding a garlic extract to shampoo, it helps strengthen the hair follicles, and stops any breakage, while adding body and shine.

It is suggested that an hour before bedtime, slice open a clove of garlic and rub it on the hair loss area. Wait for an hour then massage the scalp with olive oil. Put on a cap and go to bed. In the morning, shampoo your hair. Repeat this remedy for a few weeks, and hopefully hair will stop falling out and re-grow.

If using an onion instead of garlic cloves, apply freshly-squeezed, raw onion juice directly onto the scalp, and massage deep into the hair roots. Leave it on for about half-an-hour before rinsing and applying shampoo.
