Video Fashion: R. Kelly “Share My Love” (Behind The Scenes)

In this behind-the-scenes video shoot, Kelly pairs his military jacket with trendy, dark shade, cat-eye sunglasses, and explains what the most popular lyric, “populate” in his latest single “Share My Love” means to him, as he uses it throughout the song.

“When I use the word ‘populate,’ I’m pretty much thinking about baby making… and also raising those babies up right, and say hey let’s start over. All of this killing, and all of this violence going on in the hood… Let’s populate. Let’s get a new generation going on. Let’s teach that new generation what I learned coming up. I got whoopings when I came up. I was taught a lot of things, and no one is perfect. I didn’t grow up perfect, but I had a certain amount of respect for my mom, for my grandmother, and for my father, and for the elders period. It’s just certain things I wasn’t going to say. There were certain things I just wasn’t going to do. So, let’s get together and populate, baby. Let’s change the world. Make the world better.”
