Martin Lawrence is finally returning to TV, executive-producing an African-American comedy for cable network TV One.
"Love That Girl!" was written and directed by Bentley Kyle Evans, and is the latest effort by independent producers to serve an audience on cable that's been largely neglected by studios and broadcasters since the merger of the WB and UPN.
The show, which has 4 episodes, and was shot on a shoestring budget of $1.2 million, will air as a special 3-night event on TV One, from Tuesday, Jan. 19, thru Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010. Back-to-back episodes will air each night (including repeats).
Synopsis: "Girl!" (starring Tatyana Ali) is described as a sexy comedy following a young divorcee who returns home to Southern California and takes a job in her father's real estate business and lives with her unemployed brother.
