You may or may not remember the story of the African American and Chinese beauty queen here, but now, understand this article which basically says, if you're an entertainer and don't have enough music in your memory, or the gall and the energy to sing the whole night through when asked to, Mexico might not be the place to visit.
The article claims, a band that goes by the name of Excellence, had just finished their performance at Divine Life nightclub located within Exhimoda on Avenue Plaza Vallarta and Juan Palomary Arias in Guadalajara, but the crowd wanted more.
Excellence gladly obliged with the audience wishes and sang a few more hits, but the performance had to come to an end so the band said their goodbyes. What they didn't know is that their goodbyes would be final.
As the band prepared to exit the stage, two drunk men took a grenade and detonated it near the stage injuring a fan that stood close by. People ran in terror, including band members, but when two of the band members crossed the door of the nightclub, the gunmen shot and killed them.
The victims were identified as Jonathan Jimenez, 22, who was the owner of the group and Gustavo Alejandro, 35, charger. Their bodies ended up in the parking lot of the establishment, while a woman, 26, injured by shrapnel in the leg, was taken to a nearby hospital.
