It was a wild day in Grand Rapids, Michigan yesterday (July 7), as the city witnessed a crazed gunman on a high speed chase with police, after allegedly killing seven people before turning his weapon on himself.
Police said the manhunt began yesterday when Dantzler called his mother and told her he had killed his wife.
It was later revealed, Rodrick Shonte Dantzler killed his estranged wife Jennifer Herren, 29, their daughter Kamrie Heeren-Dantzler, 12, and Jennifer's parents, Rebecca Lynn Herren, 52, and Thomas Herren, 51.
Dantzler then traveled to another home where he killed three more people. The victims were revealed as Kimberlee Emkins, ex-girlfriend of Dantzler; Amanda Emkins, 27, Kimberlee's sister, and Marissa Lynn Emkins, 10, Amanda's daughter.
Dantzler wounded two other people while shooting from his vehicle during his rampage. They suffered minor injuries.
According to a family member of Dantzler who asked remain anonymous, Dantzler was bipolar and hadn't been taking his meds.
