The powerful voice of the award winning author and spiritual teacher, Iyanla Vanzant, was welcomed with open arms in Oakland, CA last night (Sept. 21) at the Scottish Rite Center for Hope. The event was presented by Heart and Soul Center of Light, A Center for Spiritual Living Community.
During her visit, Vanzant had the audience taking deep breaths to relax the mind, as she primarily focused on talking to the ladies about the “Breakthrough to Boldness.”
“We Breakthrough to Boldness when we stand for love, “call a thing a thing” and do our work.” Of course, we have to have on a nice outfit, and have a growl to go with it, said Iyanla. She explained how breaking through to boldness is not for the weak at heart, or in her words, “punks,” because they don't wear boldness well. We have to step our game up, be confident, ready and prepared.
“Don't be stepping into boldness with no hookup. You got the top at Ross, the bottom at Marshall's, and the shoes at Target. Oh no! That's a hookup,” said Iyanla. You got to have the whole outfit, ok.”
